The Hori Nolva Reactor is the latest PS5 compatible leverless controller from a major brand and I think you’re going to like it. This might be the new starter pad for leverless Playstation players that want Kailh low profile v2 switches. The pad is plastic on top and bottom with a matte finish I think to keep the cost down given it is Playstation ready out the box. It is very light to carry around or put in your bag. The switches are a new Kailh Silent Short Travel switch similar to the Kailh Silent Purple Glede Switches. These are a 40f and the Gledes are a 30f.
Given the pad is plastic on top and bottom it can sound hollow or louder and this happens on all plastic pads. To fix this Hori used the Silent short travel switches and added foam around all your switches that you can keep or easily remove by just pulling them off.
The split layout feels comfortable and the spacing is your standard spacing with small across the body and 1 large on the bottom.
Programming is very easy to do on the pad and you have 3 modes with a profile for each mode. Only con being you cannot set the 3 extra buttons to multiple functions. So no 2 up buttons or 3 down buttons or etc…. This is tournament rules but I hope they do like Qanba Sapphire and release a firmware update that allows you to do set the extra 3 to whatever you want.
If you want Playstation and PC compatible out the box for the price I think it’s a great deal. Hope this helps anyone interested or on the fence with this pad make the best decision for them.
Thanks
