If you have the C16 or C16-S now and like the combination of materials and easy art customization. Haute42 has a new slightly larger split C model in their line up.
Fun fact the C stands for combination… Metal – Plastic – Acrylic – C16 – C16-S.
Like the M stands for Metal – M, M-Plus, M-Lite, M-Ultra-Gen-1 and M-Ultra-Gen-2.
This new C-AT is a blend of the C16 and the M-Ultra-Gen-2 plus more on a split layout.
The first thing you’ll think of when you see the feature list is the Qanba Sapphire MX switch leverless pad.
The A.T. standing for adjustable travel. Like the Qanba Sapphire you can adjust the switch height on this pad for each individual switch. When the Sapphire came out many thought it was a gimmick. Personally I think it is a nice feature. Once you finalize the switches you plan to use on your pad. You’ll adjust the switch height to make them short travel or full travel and you wont touch that feature again lol. But having the ability to do it is nice your not locked into 1 way to play.
I think if you have a Sapphire now and want a similar feature set but with Kailh low profile switches you’ll want this pad or if you want a split layout pad you’ll like this pad and have a lot of customization options to make it feel your own.
The spacing on this pad is in the Haute42 C family a standard spacing small keycaps across the body and large on the bottom.
This pad also has a customizable wrist rest that you can add custom art work to. The rails in the light bar will shine through so your design and paper selection will determine how your design comes out.
A lot of features to discuss and dont want to write a full research paper on it here lol, but the video link below dives deep and goes over everything pretty quickly check it out.
Hope this helps anyone interested or on the fence with this pad make the best decision for them.
Thanks
